LAUNDRY AND MUDROOM

To save on space, we decided to combine our laundry and mudroom in the same space. While that’s not required, when laying out your floor plan, you at least want them to be near each other and preferably near an entrance to the home. This especially comes in handy when entering the house with wet or dirty clothing, outerwear, or shoes. Being able to remove them and immediately place them in the laundry room to be cleaned or stored in a nearby mudroom without traipsing mud and water through the house will make your life so much easier.

Although function is definitely the most important aspect of designing a laundry and mudroom, adding beauty to the design will make these spaces more enjoyable to spend time in, even if the work you’re doing might not be your favorite.
